My beloved uncle, keeper of my secrets. Served in the U.S. Navy. Began medical school, but for reasons known only to him, he left and became a missionary in Borneo, with my Aunt Laura, and their three children, Becky, Steve and Nancy. Later, the family returned to the States, and thus began my relationship with my cousins. When I became a teen-ager, I started telling him all my secrets, hops, dreams and plans. He faithfully kept them all to himself, until the time was right to reveal them. He loved sports, especially baseball, and was an umpire, plus a referee for many Junior High, and High School sports events. Several days before his death, he complained of nausia, could not hold down food or liquids, so Laua took him to the local E.R. where they admitted him. He then began coughing up blood, but instead of inserting an N.G. tube so a doctor could lazer the source of the bleeding so it would stop, no acttion was taken, and he died from choking on his own blood. He died due to medical malpractice, but because of my Aunt's nature, she did not pursue the matter. Ed was beloved and respected, and at his funeral, where I was honored to speak, hundreds of people turnedout to pay their repects. He is deeply missed, and I can't wait until he meets me as I step out the tunnel into Heaven. What a joyful, happy reunion it will be!
