Ramon Castro Abrego, 86, passed away from a serious illness on Sunday, February 18, 2007. He was born on June 20, 1920 in Corpus Christi, Texas. He retired from ASARCO after working there 35 years. He was a loving husband, father and grandfather, as well as a great grandfather. Ramon is preceded in death by his brother, Alfredo Abrego and his son, Richard P. Abrego and his uncle who raised him Juan Abrego.

Ramon is survived by his loving wife, Palmira P. Abrego of Corpus Christi, Texas; his children: Teresa (Rudy) Zertuche of La Porte, Texas, Yolanda (Ralph) Aguirre of Corpus Christi, Texas, Raymond (Rosie) Abrego of Houston, Texas, Virginia A. Bacon of Corpus Christi, Texas, Rudy (Vickie) Abrego of Aransas Pass, Texas, Angie Abrego, Olga (Greg) Tienda, Ruben (Leticia) Abrego, Gracie (Robert) Sandoval, Rosie (Richard) Martinez, Elizabeth (Roger) Ramon all of Corpus Christi, Texas, 33 grandchildren and 38 great grandchildren.

Visitation and a rosary were conducted Feb. 20 at Corpus Christi Funeral Home. Funeral Mass was celebrated Feb. 21 at St. Joseph Catholic Church.

Interment followed at Rose Hill Memorial Park.

Pallbearers: his sons and sons-in-law, Raymond Abrego, Rudy Abrego, Ruben Abrego, Rudy Zertuche, Ralph Aguirre, and Greg Tienda.
