Son of Abraham & Susanna Feller Blauer. Wife Elizabeth Graf died in Switzerland. Married Anna Abersold in Switzerland. Came to America. Children with Elizabeth were Susanna, Maria, Gottlieb, Sophie, Christian & Friedrick. One daughter with Anna was Sophie Elisabeth.

His wife Elizabeth was an active business-like woman who helped earn the family income by keeping a market-place & soliciting employment for her husband.

Johann helped build the Thunerkof, the biggest hotel in Thun.

In 1887 he, Anna (his second wife) & their daughter Sophia immigrated to SLC having been converted to the LDS Church.

He lived 3 years longer, dying at the age of 66 after eating watermelon.
