Carol Dean Ward Adams Prentice, 64, resident of Hohenwald, died Sunday, September 22, 2013 at her daughter's home in Lewisburg.

Graveside services will be conducted Tuesday at 1:30 p.m. at Rose Hill Cemetery with Eddie Rogers officiating. The family will visit with friends Tuesday from 12:00 noon until 1:00 p.m. at Oakes & Nichols Funeral Home.

The Maury County native was the daughter of the late James Ward and Lera Frances Slaughter Ward Chapman. She enjoyed painting and working crossword puzzles. She was a member of the Church of Christ.

Survivors include her daughters, Jamie Carol (Joe) Sharp of Lewisburg, Ginger Carol (Steve) Wright of Thompson's Station; sister, Deborah Jewell Riley of Hohenwald; brother, Ernie Kenneth Ward of Hohenwald; grandchildren, Jacey Renee Sharp, Jonathan Wade Sharp, Marcus Ray Wright, Jacob Ray Wright; devoted friend and former husband, Joel Prentice of Hohenwald; step-children, Tammy Louise Adams, James Harold (Terri) Adams, Jr.; four step-grandchildren; one step-great grandchild; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, James Harold Adams, Sr. whom she married in 1967 and who died February 24, 1993; step-father, George Chapman, sister, Rethia Fay Ward Burns Reinhold, brother, John Junior Ward, and grandchildren, James Alexander Gilreath, III and Joseph Harold Gilreath.

Pallbearers will be Marcus Wright, Jacob Wright, Jonathan Sharp, Zack Ward, Chris Riley and John Riley.
