John Doe alias Blank. Committed by Selden Wright Probate Judge of San Francisco Oct. 26th 1868. Age unknown; supposed to be a native of France. The evidence of insanity is he went into the Cathedral, took the Cross and carried it around and would not give it up - took pictures from the altar - took three men to get away, prays a great deal - will not converse or tell his name - is difficult to manage - says Mass - will not eat, does not sleep; drills battalions and sings hymns; is neither homicidal, suicidal nor incendiary; cause of insanity unknown; class, monomania. All other questions are answered unknown.
Condition of patient when received, wild, excited and noisy.
Admitted October 28th 1868. Died November 8th 1868 of maniacal exhaustion.
