DEATH REMOVES ANOTHER LINK WITH EARLY DAYS
Frank D. Ball, late of Michigamme, Mich., died on Friday last from an illness which had baffled the best of the medical skills for several months past. He was 62 & had 9 brothers & 2 sisters. His father was a mining man in the east & in the early 1880s the family moved to Florence, Wis. where they lived for several years. With an exception of a few of the brothers, they moved to Stambaugh where Thomas Sr. was a mine captain at the Iron River mine. He was elected Sheriff of iron County in the early 1890s & his son, Frank, was also employed in the same department. He was a resident of Michigamme during the past dozen years.
