Eldest child of Ledelle David Dupuis Sr and Anna Angelle Dupuis, brother of Nellie Dupuis Zimmerman, he graduated from the University of Louisiana and taught in Cecilia and Lafayette Schools. He served in the United States Navy during WWII in the South Pacific Theater of Operations. He was a member of the Blue Key Honor Society and headed CCD classes at St. Genevieve for many years.
