Perry Decatur Brush married Mary Emmaline Wasburn of Vermilion in 1866, the daughter of David and Irene (Beardsly) Washburn.
Perry and Mary's firstborn was Wheeler, born in 1868, while the couple still lived in Vermilion. Perry became a traveling Methodist minister. While living in Iowa, Edith A. and Alice D. were born. Eventually the family moved to Berea Twp., Cuyahoga, Ohio, and Warren D. was born in 1881.
Wheeler had three daughters; Edith had a son and daughter; Alice never married, but instead worked with the Salvation Army at Port Richey, Florida; Warren graduated from Baldwin Wallace in Berea, Ohio, and worked for the Federal Gov. Forestry Department (writing the manuals still used today). Warren had one son and divorced his first wife, and married a second time in Florida. Warren lived in Maryland.
Perry served in the Civil War for a short time, as did his brother Perly. Perly died while still enlisted. Perry and Mary were my 2nd great grandparents.
