Isaac came to Illinois in the fall of 1837, worked as a miller for two years, then returned to Vermont. He came back to Illinois, where he married Louise E. Kelley, daughter of Elisha & Nancy (Sims) Kelley, on 3 Sep 1846. The following spring, they went to Vermont, where their first child was born. They returned to Sangamon Co. in 1850, where their remaining children were born. Here they lived out their lives.
