CURRY, GEORGE H. - age 83, of Powell, passed away Friday, September 10, 2010. Mr. Curry was an electrician, retired from U.T. Hospital and Foote Mineral Company. He was a avid sports fan who coached baseball for over 20 years in the Knoxville area. George also loved country and gospel music. A Veteran of the United States Army service in World War II stationed in Tokyo. He received his Electricians Certification from the University of Auburn. Preceded in death by his parents, Jake and Emma Curry; his beloved wife, Glendora Curry; several brothers and sisters. Survived by sons, Johnny (Trish), Steve (Charlotte) and Danny (Gail) Curry; Daughter, Betty; grandchildren, Jamie Danny, Paul, Angel, and Felicia; several great-grandchildren; sister, Edna Hildenbrandt; a host of nieces and nephews. A memorial service will be held at 11 am Thursday at Lynnhurst Cemetery with Dr. Pat Corn officiating. Arrangements by Lynnhurst-Greenwood Chapel of Berry Funeral Home, 2300 W. This is a bittersweet day. I lost my father that morning and I had my son the same night. I truely believe mom came and got papaw they were insepratable. I love you both.
