Mr. Charlie Jones, son of the late Rev. Andrew and Nancy Jane Haynes Jones, was born in Mt. Victory, Kentucky on June 3, 1910 and he departed this life peacefully on April 3, 2008 having attained the fruitful age of 97 years.
He was united in marriage to Mrs. Edith Spencer Jones on April 25, 1947. She survives. Other survivors include one son, Charles (and Judy) Jones; two grandchildren, Melinda (and Darren) Robertson and Derek (and Kelli) Jones; two great grandchildren, MeKyla Jones and Katelyn Robertson several nieces and nephews, and a host of other relaives and friends who mourn his passing.

Other than his parents, he was preceded in death by; four brothers, Hayden, Pete, Lewis, and James Jones; and two sisters, Nellie Barnett and Angeline Jones.

Charlie served in the u.s. Army during World War II and he was stationed in Iceland. He retired from the U.S. Forest Service and then continued to work as a grounds keeper for the Bee Rock Park until the ripe old age of 94. He loved the outdoors, reading, and visiting with family and friends and watching his great grandchildren learn and grow. He was a kind and gentle person who will be greatly missed by all who knew him and he leaves a host of relatives and friends who mourn his passing.

Funeral services were held at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, April 6, 2008 at the Chapel of the Pulaski Funeral Home with Bro. "Red" Adams and Bro. Stanley Sears officiating. Burial followed in the Jones Cemetery at Mt. Victory, KY.
