Jasper Joseph Aiello, 88, of Sherman, died at 12:45 a.m. on Wednesday, June 24, 2015 at St. John's Hospital.

Jasper was born March 29, 1927, in Springfield, Ill., the son of Dominic and Mary Parisi Aiello.

He married Marie J. DeRose on Nov. 5, 1949, in Springfield.

Jasper graduated from Lanphier High School in 1945 and attended Brown's Business College.

He proudly served his country in the U.S. Navy during WWII on the USS West Virginia and the USS Wilkes Barre.

He was employed as a consultant at Teachers Retirement System from 1953 until his retirement. He was a member of K of C #4175, the Roman Cultural Society, St. John Vianney, and coached Little League.

Jasper was an avid St. Louis Cardinals fan, enjoyed bowling, and listening to music.

He was preceded in death by his parents; son, Gary Aiello ; six brothers: Vince, Jasper , Joseph, Anthony, Phillip, and Sam; and four sisters: Josephine Aiello , Grace Bologna, Mary Palazzolo, and Frances Romano.

He is survived by his wife, Marie J. Aiello of Sherman; son, Tom (wife, Mona) Aiello of Athens; daughter, Mary Lynn (husband, Kevin) Marrie of Springfield; sister, Rose Palazzolo of Rockford; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Visitation: Family will receive friends from 5-7 p.m. on Tuesday, June 30, 2015, at Kirlin-Egan & Butler Funeral Home, 900 S. 6th St., Springfield. Visitation will begin with a prayer service at 5 p.m.

Funeral Mass: 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday, July 1, 2015, at St. John Vianney, 902 St. John Dr., Sherman, with the Rev. Clint Honkomp, OP, celebrant.

Burial will follow at Camp Butler National Cemetery.
