Grace Yvonne "Gracey" Adams, 75, Altoona, died Wednesday at Shady Grove Adventist Hospital, Rockville, Md., after a brief illness.

She was born in Newry, daughter of the late Wilfred F. and Josephine M. (Snyder) Shaw. She married Richard Thomas Adams on May 27, 1961, at the Cathedral of the Blessed Sacrament, Altoona, and he died March 26, 2013.

Surviving are a daughter, Lisa A. of North Potomac, Md.; a granddaughter, Emily Grace (Adams) Muhler of North Potomac; a sister, M. Ellen Stultz of Richland; and a brother, Dwight Shaw of Newry.

She was preceded in death by a brother, Glenn A. Shaw, in 1975.

Gracey was a 1956 graduate of Hollidaysburg High School. She retired in 2000 as a payroll administrator at Delta Computers, Altoona, with 22 years of service and previously had worked at Puritan Sportswear. She was of the Methodist faith.

Gracey volunteered at Dr. Paul Raymond's office in Cresson for more than 10 years. She loved being with her family, especially her husband, whom she missed with all her heart. She loved her daughter and granddaughter, sharing in their lives down to the smallest detail.

Friends will be received from 4 to 8 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 22, 2013, at Jones Funeral Home. A funeral service will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Monday, Sept. 23, 2013, at Vicksburg Grace Brethren Church, McKee, the Rev. Wayne Ayers officiating. Interment will be at Carson Valley Cemetery, Duncansville.
