Ira Lee Bland, Jr., 70, of Hazlehurst, died Monday, Aug. 19, 2013 at Baptist Medical Center.
Visitation will be held Thursday, Aug. 22 from 5-8 p.m. at New Providence Baptist Church. Services will be held Friday at 2 p.m. at the church with interment in the church cemetery. Riverwood Family Funeral Services is in charge of services.
Mr. Bland was born Aug. 22, 1942, to Ira Lee Bland Sr. and Vergie Mae Freeman Bland. He attended Wesson High School, and was employed with National Plastics in Port Gibson and retired from Offshore Drilling.
He was a member of the Army and the Army Reserve National Guard. Mr. Bland was a member of New Providence Baptist Church.
Mr. Bland was preceded in death by his wife, Lela Faye Maher Bland, and brother, Everett Bland.
Survivors include: sons, Michael Bland, Jay Bland and wife Sabrina, and Brad Bland and wife Michelle; daughter, Brenda Ahrend Crafield and husband Tom; brothers, Benny Bland and wife Betty, Ruben Bland, Henry Bland and wife Elaine, Leon Bland and Frank Bland; sisters, Virgie Bland Davis and Betty Ruth Bland Higgs and husband Bobby; and grandchildren, Matthew Cranfield and wife Shelby, Tyler Cranfield, Hannah Cranfield, Joseph Cranfield, and Kayla Bland.
