MARION S. CALLENDER, JR., 78, a resident of Houston for over 40 years and native of Lincoln County, MS passed away May 12, 2007. He was born August 23, 1928 to Marion and Annie (Smith) Callender. Marion was a long-time member of the Boilermakers Local 582 in Baton Rouge, LA, a former employee of Browning and Furlow Plumbing, and retired from Harris County Parks Precinct 1. He was preceded in death by Dale Callender, his wife of 45 years, three brothers and two sisters. He is survived by three sons, Gary Callender and wife Karen of Pearland, Stephen Carroll Callender, Sr. of League City, and Mark Callender and wife Nora of Pearland; one daughter, Lynn Carter and husband David of Semmes, AL; honorary daughter Jo Uhland; nine grandchildren: Stephen, Brian, Beth, April, Cody, Tiffany, Bryce Callender and Sydney and Cameron Carter; four great-grandchildren; three sisters, one especially devoted sister, Ellen Frascino and husband Bill of Pearland; and a very loyal dog Rosey. A very special thanks to the Staff of Windsong Village in Pearland and to Regency Hospice. The Funeral Service will be held at 2:00pm Monday, May 14th, at Niday Funeral Home, with visitation with the family two hours prior to the service from 12:00pm-2:00pm.
