Son of Joseph and Valeria Baldwin. Married Elmira Ferguson, who died in 1879; Marion Twp, Clinton Co, Ohio.

Remarried to Anna Eliza Van Duzen (daughter of Ezra Williams Van Duzen and Anna Eliza Dowd). They had two sons:

- Frank V. Baldwin, born 11 Nov 1891, died 11 Aug 1977

From the HISTORY OF BLANCHESTER compiled by Mrs. Matella Doughman ^ Mrs. S.B. Craig 1940:
Dr. F.M. Baldwin was the first druggist, opening June 1864. Of the doctors who have located & practiced here of later years include Dr. F.M. Baldwin, who attended lectures in Eclectic Medical College in Cincinnati in 1863-64, practiced for a brief time & then went into the drug business. In 1888, he graduated from Eclectic Medical college in Cincinnati & until his death a few years ago he practice his profession.

He was twice married, first to Elmira Ferguson. To them were born five children. Mrs. Carrie Merkle, survives, & daughter in law, Mrs. Pache Baldwin. His second wife was Anna Van Duzen, who passed away just last week. They had one son Frank V. who lives in Springfield.

FRANK M BALDWIN, druggist, P.O. Blanchester, in Carnahan's Block, Broadway street, & son of Joseph & Valeria A. (Shank) Baldwin; was born in Blanchester September 6, 1842, where he attended school till 1861, & taught school also about fifteen months. He then entered the Eclectic Medical College of Cincinnati where he attended one term during the winter of 1863-4. In June, 1864, he started in the drug business in his preset place of business, where he has quite an extensive trade, carries a choice stock of drugs, paints, oils, window glass, jewelry, & overhead a stock of wall paper; stock valued at $3,000, & does an annual business of about $6,000. He has been married twice, first near Middleboro, Warren County, Ohio, October 19, 1864, to Elmira, daughter of J. H. & Mary (Erwin) Ferguson, born in Hamilton County, Ohio. They had five children, two living--Sherman & Carrie, deceased, Sheridan, Gladdest M. & Stanley B. His wife died February 22, 1879 & he again married in Newport, Ky., to Anna, daughter of Ezra & Anna Vanduzen, born in Newport in 1855. Mr Baldwin owns a fine brick residence & four lots on Mainstreet. He is Master of the Masonic Lodge of Blanchester, & member of the fire department six years, Village District Clerk eleven years, Councilman several times, & member of the Universalist Church.
