Barry Fey, known as the Rock Father was a towering figure in the Denver music scene in promoting rock n roll concerts and staging one of the biggest acts ever seen. Barry was a legendary and revered figure world-wide, but especially in the Colorado music scene. He promoted thousands of events from the mid 60's to the 90's. In 2012 he was inducted into the Colorado Rock of Fame.

Fey turned Red Rocks into a renowned concert venue. Fey who called his business Barry Fey Feyline got the city of Denver to lift a ban on Rock n Roll shows at Red Rocks. At the peak of his business success, Fey was booking over 250 events a year in Denver, Phoenix, Las Vegas, and others cities as well until his retirement in 1997. He came back to work until his temporary fight with prostate cancer.

He did what he had to do through conflicts with his competitors. Fey was among the most fascinating and most controversial, figures in Colorado for decades. He was a complicated man but he was Colorado Rock n Roll for many, many years. He was a character that had many stories, but wasn't showy about it. He was just more of a conversational person.

As once an old-time rock promoter, his kind heart saved Denver's symphony orchestra in 1989. He also gave to charities intended to decrease violence among young people. However, known for his cockiness with his competitors, he will always be known for bringing such shows as Led Zeppelin, The Who, The Rolling Stones, Ozzy Osborne, The Beatles, and many more to Colorado. At the time of his death Fey was recovering from hip replacement surgery.
