Well, everybody's got a story to tell
And everybody's got a wound to be healed
I want to believe there's beauty here
'Cause oh, I get so tired of holding on
I can't let go, I can't move on
I want to believe there's meaning here

Standing on a road I didn't plan
Wondering how I got to where I am
I'm trying to hear that still small voice
I'm trying to hear above the noise

How many times have you heard me cry out
"God please take this"?
How many times have you given me strength to
just keep breathing?
Oh I need you
God, I need you now.

Though I walk,
Though I walk through the shadows
And I, I am so afraid
Please stay, please stay right beside me
With every single step I take

The lyrics to this beautiful song " I need you now " by Plumb was a special song that my dear Mother loved in relating to her fight with cancer. This tragedy was a costly experience to have, along with my family, being by my mother's side during her final days. For, she was a fighter and her incredible determination had showed up in her strong will to live and her love for life.

My precious Mom Emily, was a force for spreading good in the world, and her legacy - this compelling force of good will continue in the many of us whose lives she touched.
She was a vibrant soul, one who literally lit up the room whenever she entered. And right up until she became less able to get around, Mom was full of joy and always eager to help out, no matter what the problem was. My mother's core motivating force was- LOVE and it was her love that has had a profound impact on the essence of who I am. Mom also had the reputation of being the best Mother, Grandmother, and Auntie to everyone. She was deeply loved by everyone.

Mom was a happily married devoted wife to my wonderful Dad Robert Duran for 59 years. Together they had five children, Myself Robert Duran (Lori Duran), Randy Duran (Josephine Duran), Liz Sandoval (Joe Sandoval), Johnny Duran, and the late Tony Duran, 16 grandchildren, and numerous great grand-kids. She was born in Montrose Colorado to Emelio Belarde and Pauline Belarde Rodriquez and raised by her step father John Rodriquiz. She was the youngest of her six siblings, 3 brothers and 3 sisters.

Mom loved to play Bingo and go shopping every weekend with her daughter Liz. She always took care of all her children, making sure we were all set up with home necessities even if she wasn't asked. Mom also took the time to visit each and everyone of us spending time with her beloved family. She also enjoyed family Get-togethers such as family reunions, Birthdays, Weddings,Thanksgiving, and Christmas. Mom also had a love for music. She loved all types of music, new or old. She always use to call me and tell me not to forget to watch the music awards or American Idol. Her and my Dad enjoyed watching game shows together rooting for or against the contestants. She also always had the phone right next to her waiting for all her kids daily calls. More than anything she made sure she gave her time to God with her daily prayers at 10AM and very seldom missed her weekly mass at her church. Mom had the best loving personalty with her cute sense of humor. She had this sense of attachment that all of her kids actually would fight over her for all her attention. One fond memory of mine is when we were all children we used to all rumble against each other racing to get into bed with her after my Dad went to work early in the morning. On one occasion, I recall me trying to beat all my siblings to the lie down with her and my sister Liz was a already there right next to her. When I strolled into her bedroom and seen her already next to her, I frantically asked my sister Liz " what are you doing here? " And yes, she use to touch our ears, especially when they were cold. Furthermore, my parents kept there love together as if they were newlyweds. They were always connected with each other in marriage. My wonderful Dad held her hand til the end. I can go on and on with so many touching stories about my precious Mom.

She had the power of love that cannot be imaginal. She was diffidently an Angel in Gods eyes. In the lords name I know that God has a special plan for her... Oh Mom, I can't imagine life without you. I will always remember your graceful smile and perfect complexion without a wrinkle on your beautiful face. You listened to me when I needed to talk. You talked to me when I needed to listen. You let me grow and learn from all my mistakes. You never left my side when I was feeling down. Your the place I came from, my very first home. I wish there would be a way I could repay all the things you did for me because there is nothing great enough to repay the greatest Mother in the world. You will always be the map I follow with every single step I take, I promise. You will always be with me through a slight windy breeze with the whisper of the leaves. You will always live on, in my heart with all the wonderful memories you branded upon us. I'm sure going to miss you Mom.
