Survivors include is wife Basilia, three sons, Robert Garduno, Joe Garduno, and Steve Garduno, all of Montrose; six daughters, Dominica Jacquez of Montrose, Dora Velasquez of Montrose, Teresa Snow of Craig, Susie Garduno of Montrose, Sara Garduno of Montrose, and Frances Vigil of Craig; a brother, Rudolfo Garcia of Amarillo, Texas; two sisters, Isabell Tapia of Las Vegas, New Mexico, and Empemenia Lucero of Stockton California. He is the son of Rumaldita Garduno and brother to Mary Garduno Duran.

What I remember most about him, was his kindness to everyone. Tani was always so happy to see my family every time we visited. My father and him were really close. He always had such a great sense of humor, always being a joker and a trickster. He was always bringing enjoyment to the atmosphere, always making everyone laugh.

Uncle Tani use to always slightly slug me in the arm, pretending he was going to box me. He started boxing in the service and continued to use his talents there after, boxing in many small mining towns for money. They raised his hands many times as the winner. Uncle Tani was the first to bring boxing in our family.

Tani worked for a saw mill company for years. He always worked hard and was always very dedicated to his job. He always made sure his family was well taken care of.

There was nothing that would bring him down because he always looked a life as a way to find a way to smile, even when matters were not going well. I can understand my Fathers feeling for him, placing him as his favorite Uncle. I do recall my dad getting on me to make sure I said hello to him. I will always remember all the joy he brought to the family. He will always be remembered as one who showed all of us the ropes of finding happiness. My loving Uncle, who I will always remember and love you.

Memories

I feel a warmth around me
like your presence is so near,
And I close my eyes to visualiz
your face when you were here,
I endure the times we spent together
and they are locked inside my heart,
For as long as I have those memories
we will never be apart,
Even though we cannot speak anymore
my voice is always there,
Because every night before I sleep
I have you in my prayer.
