Ruth A. Carlson died on Saturday, May 25, 2013 at Keeper of the Flame Morewood, Blairsville, PA. She was born August 31, 1924 in Blacklick Twp., PA, the daughter of the late Charles Swasy and Anna Mary (Clawson) Swasy. She was a member of Hopewell United Methodist Church, where she was the treasurer for many years. She formerly worked as a beautician . She was a 50 year member of the Order of Eastern Star #221 of Latrobe. Ruth was also the former Black Lick twp. Tax Collector. She is survived by her son, Bernard Carlson and wife Debbie of Blairsville, PA, son,Jeffrey Carlson and wife Janice of Hudson, OH, daughter, Mary Ann Clark and husband David of Blairsville, PA, grandchildren, David Clark Jr. and wife Alecia, Kristen Corrigan and husband Mike, Amanda Frommeyer and husband Greg, Jeff Carlson anf wife Rachael, Chad Carlson and wife Sarah, Kaitlyn Carlson and Dylan Carlson, great grandchildren, Nicholas and Melanie Frommeyer, Ellis Clark, Annie and Michael Corrigan, brother, Clark Swasy and wife Margaret and sister,Virginia Campbell. She was preceded in death by her husband, Hilding B. Carlson in 2009, brothers, John Swasy and Charles Swasy Jr. and sisters, Mary Lois Yelenic and Carolyn Dunlap. Interment will be in the Blairsville Cemtery, Blairsville, PA.
