JEAN E. ALVIS nee Hillberg, age 86, of Wheaton, died suddenly November 22.

Visitation will be held Monday, November 26 from 6 PM until a remembrance service at 7:45 PM at Brust Funeral Home, 135 South Main Street, Lombard. A private family graveside service will follow at Glen Oak Cemetery, Hillside.

Mrs. Alvis is survived by her four daughters, Susan (Raymond) Gillespie of DeKalb, Elizabeth A. Magnier of Warrenville, Karen L. (Michael) Joyce of Wheaton and Christina J. of Wheaton; her two sons, Robert Y. (Margaret) of Glen Ellyn, and Jeffrey A. (Andrea) of Wheaton. Her granddaughters, Lindsay (Brandon) Cochrane of Wheaton, Lauren (Chase) Purdom of Chicago, Katherine Alvis of Chicago, Jordan Alvis of Dallas, TX and Hannah Joyce of Wheaton; her grandsons, Charles Trumbower of DeKalb, Steven Gillespie of DeKalb, Kristopher Gillespie of DeKalb, Michael Joyce of Wheaton, Kyle Joyce of Wheaton, and Bobby Magnier of Wheaton; her great grandson Evan Cochrane of Wheaton.

Mrs. Alvis was preceeded in death by her husband Robert N.

Mrs. Alvis lived in Wheaton for 59 years since 1954. She was formerly a member of Cress Creek Country Club. Mrs. Alvis was a Pi Beta Phi sorority member and a 1946 graduate of Lawrence University with a Bachelor of Science degree. She was a former board member of Community Nursing Service in Carol Stream.

Mrs. Alvis was a proud Swede. She was a bowler, knitter, and great cook and baker. She enjoyed her VW convertible with the license plate "How Swede it is." She was a "Mod" grandma and loved to spend time with her grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers, memorials to C.N.S. Hospice, 690 E. North Avenue, Suite 100, Carol Stream, Illinois 60188 are appreciated.
