Floyd was born October 17, 1916 in Greeley, CO to Floyd Louis and Julia Anna (Burford) Adams.
He graduated from Greeley High School and was active in the FFA chapter. He won the national dairy-judging contest in Kansas City in 1935. He also went to college at Colorado A&M, now CSU, for three years.Captain Adams was a decorated World War II veteran and fought in the Battle of the Bulge.
After the war, Floyd worked as a field man for H. J. Heinz in the pickle division for 14 years, did carpentry work with his dad and ran a small dairy. He married June Alice Senier on August 14, 1963 at the parsonage of the First United Presbyterian Church in Greeley.
He worked for Greeley Producers Livestock since their opening as a weigh master and maintenance man. He also raised registered quarter horses and cattle. He retired from Producers in 1983 and continued farming and raising livestock.
He was a founding member of the Saddle Club, member of the First United Presbyterian Church of Greeley as well as a member of the Galeton Community Church. He was a loving father and grandfather and a loyal and faithful servant to his Lord Jesus Christ.
His wife June Adams of Gill, CO; son, Jeff Adams and wife, Donna, of Gill, CO; daughter, Pam and husband, Jack Heidenreich, of Gill, CO; brothers, Merrill Adams and wife, Fran, of Denver, CO and LaVerne Adams and wife, Jeanne, of Golden, CO; sisters, Valda and husband, Louie Hudson, of Greeley, CO and Wilma and husband Roy Ireland, of Evans, CO; grandchildren, Tyler Heidreich and wife Becky, Jayme and husband Chad Gettman, Clint Heidenreich and wife Shawna and Schyler Bennett; and great grandchildren, Wyatt and Weston Heidenreich, Tanner and Jayden Gettman and Landree Heidenreich survive him.
