ABEL -- Otto M. Abel, 99, a resident of Rio Rancho, passed away peacefully on April 20, 2005. He was born on June 18, 1906 in New York to Otto W. and Lillian A. Giel Abel. He was proud to have served his country in the United States Air Force. Otto was a member of the Rio Rancho Elks Club, American Legion, and the Covenant Christian Church in Rio Rancho. He loved traveling and enjoyed rock hunting, which is how he met his beautiful wife, Rosaleen. Otto was a man who never met a stranger and brought joy to all of those who had the pleasure of knowing him. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Rosaleen. He is survived by his brother and sister in laws, Russ and Charlotte Eisenhart, Alice Krauskoph, Dorlan Wagner, Paul and Ester Koch; 17 nieces and nephews; and his very special friend, Juanita Stull. He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him. A memorial service for Otto will be held on Thursday, April 28, 2005 at the Covenant Christian Church, 6380 Iris Road, in Rio Rancho with Scott DeVore as officiant.
