Lucy Frances Hammonds 87 died Friday at Lawrence County Medical Center. The Lawrence County Native was born Jan.8,1906. The daughter of the late William Clagg & Sarah Justice Clagg Ferris. She was born & raised in the Ironton & Lawrence County areas & was a member of The New Valley Baptist Church. Funeral will be 11A.M. Monday at Phillip's Funeral Home, with Elder Michael Whitehead officiating. Burial will be in Sugar Creek Cemetery. Survivors include one son, Jim Hammonds of Ironton; four daughters, Barbara Davis, Betty Harrison, Grace Hammonds, & Sarah Whitehead, all of Ironton. She was proceeded in death by three sons, Charles Hammonds, John Hammonds, & Burl Hammonds; two brothers, Howard Clagg & Brady Clagg, & one sister Mrs. Hubert Sturgill.
