He listed his age as 40, his birthdate as September 25, 1877, his occupation as farming, and his current residence as Lexington, Oklahoma (Cleveland County). He listed his wife, Minnie, as his closest relative. In 1920, the family owned their own farm in Lexington, and they had added another child, Geneve Anderson, age 5, born in Oklahoma. By 1930, Joseph and Minnie were still in Lexington, their two sons had left home, and Geneva, age 15, was still at home.
Minnie died July 9, 1955 and was buried in the Lexington Cemetery. Joseph died July 28, 1957 and was buried beside his wife.
