Mr. Broward Albertie, born February 23, 1923 to the late Lizzie Melton and Merrick Albertie, was called home to his eternal rest on April 26, 2005. He attended the Church of God by Faith during his younger years. He worked for the Nassau County School Board and the County of Nassau for over 35 years.

Broward was affectionately known as 'Shorty' by his family and friends. Shorty leaves to cherish his memories a very loving and devoted family: five sons, Mac (Mattie) Albertie, Karry (Linda) Albertie, David Albertie, Jerry (Janice) Albertie, and Jessie Albertie; three daughters Patricia (James) Johnson, Brenda (Horace) Albertie, and Carol (David) Norton; sons-in-law Herman Roberts, Mack Taylor, and Jimmie Dawson; one brother-in-law, Herman Albertie; 26 grandchildren, 51 great-grandchildren, a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and many sorrowing friends. Viewing for Shorty will be held today at Church of God by Faith Sandhill, from 5-8 p.m. and on Saturday from 10:30 a.m. until the hour of service. Funeral services will be on Saturday at noon. Interment will be in Martine Cemetery.
