BENZONIA — Joyce Marie Duford, 64, of Benzonia, died April 17, 2011, at Munson Medical Center, with her family by her side.
She was born in Escanaba on Aug. 4, 1946. Joyce married Thomas Lee Duford in May of 1983 at the Cherry Raceway.
She is survived by her husband, Tom; daughters, Trisha (Sean) Nigh, of Benzonia, and Tina (Paul) Drake, of Beulah; sons, Kevin Duford, of Lake Ann, Mark Duford, of Beulah, and Lee Duford, of Planefield, Ill.; sisters, Agnes (Charles) Cross, of Goshen, Ind., Bertha (Marsh) Spaford, of Tampa, Fla., Nancy Anderson, of Benzonia, Elizabeth (Izzy) Hernandez, of Benzonia, Gerry Pamame, of Benzonia, Judy (Dave) Kublick, of Covert, Ginger (Eugene) Zambon, of Bark River, Bernice (Tony) Sineway, of Benzonia; two special sisters, Bonnie Sperling of Brant, and Paulette Abshire, of Honor; brothers, John Beaver, of Benzonia, and Fred (Darlene) Weissert, of Escanaba; grandchildren, Mike Duford and Zachary and Emily Drake; numerous nieces and nephews; and best friend, Karlin Corey.
Joyce was preceded in death by son, Gordon Edinger Jr.; father, Albert Gerou; mother, Agnes Beaver; a very special father, "Pops" John Beaver Sr.; brothers, Michael Sperling, Clifford Gerou and Mose Beaver; sisters, Bonnie Edinger and Sarah Lugg.
Visitation will be today, April 19, from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. at Jowett Family Funeral Homes in Benzonia.
