"NAOMI BLANCHE BAKER


"(Delevan, NY) - Naomi Blanche Baker, of Delevan, NY, died Tuesday, September 14, 2010, in the Jennie B. Richmond Nursing Home, Springville, at the age of 96.


"She was born January 11, 1914, in Newfane, a daughter of the late Joel Beach and Eleanor Esther (nee Taylor) Baker. She was a graduate of Newfane High School, the University of Rochester School of Nursing and received a Bachelor of Sciences degree in Public Health Nursing from Buffalo University. She was a retired school nurse/teacher for the Pioneer Central School District, Yorkshire, NY. She was a member and past Nobel Grand of the Royal Rebekah Lodge; a member of the Traveler's Club; the Delevan, NY, United Methodist Church, and was historian for the Village of Delevan and Town of Yorkshire.


"She is survived by special friends, Ronald and Patricia Szustakowski of Delevan and several cousins. A sister, Dora Lucille Baker, died in infancy in the 1920's.


"There are no calling hours. A Memorial Service will be held Sunday, September 26, 2010, at 3 PM in the Delevan United Methodist Church, Church St., Delevan. A graveside service will be held Saturday, October 2, 2010, at 11 AM in the North Ridge Cemetery, Cambria. Memorials may be made to the Beaver Meadow Environmental Education Center, N. Java, or the Delevan United Methodist Church. Arrangements were completed by W.S. Davis Funeral Home, Inc., 358 W. Main St, Arcade."
