Fontanelle Observer Nov 2 1922: Mrs Clarence Hayes died at her home east of Bridgewater on Tuesday October 24 of uremia. She was born Feb. 26 1896 in Green Co. She married Clarence Hayes at Corning September 2 1916-Two sons were born to them-Neal Leland aged 5 and Freddy Clarence aged 3. Those to mourn her death are her husband,two sons and her mother Mrs J C Ellis of Des Moines Ia. The funeral was held Thursday and was conducted by Rev Owen Thomas. The body was laid to rest in the Campbell Cemetery south of Bridgewater.
