James Cogburn

HAWLEY - James Bethel Cogburn, 75, of Hawley, died Saturday morning at Happy Haven Rest Home after a long illness. Services will be at 2 p.m. Monday at Rest Haven Chapel in Lubbock.

Roy Foutz of Northpark Church of Christ in Abilene will officiate. Burial will be in Rest Haven Cemetery.

Born Oct. 17, 1905, in Cartersville, Okla., he graduated from Parks Camp High School near Breckenridge. He married Opal Terrell May 11, 1927, in Corsicana. He was a production superintendent for McCutchin Oil Company of Dallas for 43 years. He lived in the Lubbock area from 1946 until moving to Hawley in 1970.

He is survived by his wife; a son, James Everett of Abilene; a grandson, Steve of Stanton; two sisters, Mrs. Ethel Werkman of Bartlesville, Okla., and Mrs. Clara Mae Asher of Tulsa, Okla; and a brother, Earl of Graham.
