After a long and painful illness, Mrs. C.E. Achenbach died Thursday, February 18th, 1897, aged 29 years, 11 mo. and 21 days.
Kitty Bullis was born at Irondale, New York, February 27, 1867. Having been orphaned at an early age she made her home with her married sister, Mrs. J.T Campbell, with whom she moved to Cedarville, Nebraska, in the early days of Sherman county. She was married to Mr. C.E. Achenbach June 2nd, 1886. Having made her home here continuously, the citizens have known her almost since childhood and are now compelled to feel the loss of a true, self-reliant, jovial and kind hearted friend. The family lose a loving wife and mother, known far and wide for her may virtues, and the whole community grieves the departure of an esteemed neighbor and a popular member of society. That feeling was shown by the large attendance at the funeral. The services were held at the Presbyterian church in this village. Saturday at 11 a.m., officiated by Rev. J.A. Stevens, assisted by Rev. C.E Fenton and the remains were laid to rest in the Litchfield Cemetery. A husband and two little boys are bereft.
