Sistine "Sadie" Alimenti 90, of Peckville, died Thursday at Lackawanna County Health Care Center. She was the widow of Arnold Alimenti who died in 1999. Born and raised in Eynon, she was the daughter of the late Rinaldo and Maria Trinai Smargiassi. She attended Eynon schools and was employed in the local garment industry at Barbizon in Jessup and Marion Dress in Peckville until her retirement. She resided for most of her life in Peckville and was a member of Sacred Heart of Jesus Church, Peckville and the ILGWU. Her special way of giving love and teaching her family to find courage and strength in God will always be remembered and cherished. She was preceded in death by 3 brothers; Gene,"Ipe," Samuel, "Sam", and Angelo, "Toby" Smargiassi and a sister, Anita Gregori. The funeral will be Monday from the James M. Margotta Funeral Home, 1019 Main St. Peckville, with mass at 10am at Sacred Heart of Jesus Church, Peckville. Interment St. Francis Cemetery, Eynon. Friends may call Monday morning from 8:30 until 9:45 at the funeral home.
