Jennie Anzelmo, 91, a lifelong resident of Old Forge, died Tuesday afternoon surrounded by the loving and compassionate staff of Highland Manor Nursing Home, Exeter. Her husband, Attilio Anzelmo, died on May 27, 1990. Born in Old Forge on February 24, 1914 to the late Daniel and Angelina Ripa Melucci, she was employed in the garment industry for numerous years and was a lifelong parishioner of St. Mary of the Assumption Church, Old Forge. Jennie was a member of the International Ladies' Garment Workers' Union and was a lifetime member of the Deborah Hospital Foundation. Jennie was a wonderful wife, mother, and grandmother who loved her family and was a good friend to anyone who needed one. She was an animal lover and especially loved her "granddogs" Nittany and Bruschi. She was preceded in death by her entire family of six brothers, Charles, Joseph, Daniel, Ralph, Patrick, and Alex Melucci; and one sister, Mary "Mamie" Anzelmi. The funeral will be directed on Friday at 9:00 AM from the Victor M. Ferri Funeral Home, 522 Fallon St., Old Forge with Mass of Christian Burial at 9:30 in St. Mary of the Assumption Church, West Grace and Lawrence Streets, Old Forge. Interment, Old Forge Cemetery. Friends may call on Thursday (today) from 5 - 8 PM.
