John J. Alimenti, 92, of Old Forge died Tuesday at Compassionate Care Hospice at the Regional Hospital of Scranton. His wife, Dolores Krevey Alimenti, preceded him in death on June 17, 2013. Born in Old Forge, son of the late Peter and Annunciata Sabatini Alimenti, he was a graduate of Old Forge High School and was a parishioner of St. Lawrence O’Toole Church (Prince of Peace Parish), Old Forge. He retired as a shift supervisor from Fitchburg Coated Products and had been employed by Maxson Plant and the Old Forge Police Department. He was skilled at home construction and furniture restoration. His favorite pastime was refinishing furniture for family and friends. He was a devoted husband, brother, uncle, and friend. He will be dearly missed by all. He is predeceased by brothers, Louis and Dr. Frank Alimenti; and sisters, Flora Pace and Rose Alimenti; and a niece, Ann Alimenti Zale. The funeral will be Friday at 10:30 AM from the Victor M. Ferri Funeral Home,522 Fallon St., Old Forge with Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 in St. Lawrence O’Toole Church at Prince of Peace Parish, South Main St., Old Forge. Interment services will follow in Holy Cross Cemetery, Old Forge. Friends may call Friday morning from 8:30 – 10:30 AM at the funeral home.
