Lillian was the youngest surviving child of John E. and Jane M. {Putnam} Curtis. She had two brothers involved in the family shoe manufacturing business and three sisters, only one of whom married. Lillian taught in the public schools of Marlborough, Massachusetts and became assistant principal of the Hildreth School. She and sisters, Annie and Mary, lived together for many years until their mother's death on Main Street in the family homestead. For the last decades of her life, she lived with Annie and Mary at Maddox Place, Marlborough. She is at the right in the photograph with the Arnold S. Curtis family and sister, Mary, is on the left. The photo was taken at "Lake Farm" the beloved home of their late brother, Charles, located on the banks of Fort Meadow Reservoir.
