Born fifth of eight children of William John Adair and Mary Burnside.

ADAIR.—On January 20, 1899, Hugh Alexander Adair, Sr. The relatives and friends, also the League of the Sacred Heart, the Altar Society and the employes of League Island Navy Yard, are respectfully invited to attend the funeral, on Tuesday morning, at 8.30 o'clock, from his late residence, No. 2221 South Ninth street. High requiem mass at the Epiphany Church. Interment at Old Cathedral Cemetery.
