Thursday in Union Hospital, West Frankfort.
Mrs. AKIN was a retired sales clerk. She was a member of the First Baptist Church, RWI Club, Garden Club, Frankfort Historical Society, Half Century Club and White Shrine, all of West Frankfort. She was born Oct. 7, 1899, in West Frankfort, to Albert and Sulie CANTRALL [sic] WOODS. She was married to Ennis AKIN on June 1, 1921, in West Frankfort.
She was a lifelong resident of West Frankfort.
A son, Leon, died in 1971. Survivors are her husband; a daughter, Barbara VLAHOS, El Cajon, Calif.; a sister, Mae BROWN, West Frankfort; a half-brother, Everett LOCKMAN, West Frankfort; and four grandchildren.
Funeral services are pending at the Reedy Funeral Home, West Frankfort.
