Adolphus "Sonny" Adkins, 64, of Keatley Springs, died Saturday, December 27, 2003 following a short illness.
Born September 5, 1939 in Hinton, he was the son of Myrtle O. Harvey Adkins of Hinton and the late Murrell Adkins.
Sonny was a man of many talents. His hobbies included hunting, mechanics, and carpentry.
He was preceded in death by one nephew, Stevie Adkins.
Other than his mother, survivors include one daughter, Vicki Mills and husband, Bobby of Grace Walker Mountain; one brother, Glenn Adkins and wife Linda Sue of Hinton; a nephew thought of as a son, Robbie Adkins and wife Vickie of Daniels; a niece, Amber Adkins of Hinton; two grandchildren, Valerie Wickline and companion Robbie Brown of Tug Creek and Jesse Wickline of Grace Walker Mountain; and expecting granddaughter in January.
Service will be at 11 a.m. today at Pivont Funeral Home Chapel in Hinton with Pastor Mark Brandon officiating. Burial will be in Upland Cemetery near Hinton.
