We celebrate the life of our loved one, Remigio "Ray" B. Aragon.

Remigio "Ray" Brozo Aragon was born in Manila, Philippines to Valeriano and Concepcion Aragon in 1935. He grew up in Palauig, Zambales as one of 7 brothers and sisters - Josefina, Theodora, Eduardo, Pedro, Erico & Amelia.

Ray's first experience with business was in the family bakery. After his father passed away, Ray joined the Navy in 1954 to help support the family. He received an honorable medical discharge after serving 13 years and directly following began his career with the United States Postal Service.

In 1964, in Pasadena, California, Ray and his true love Wenifreda Pablo Rubio were married in the Sacrament of Holy Matrimony of the Roman Catholic faith and moved to San Diego. Just one short year later, their first daughter Wendy was born.

In 1967, Ray purchased the family home in the Mission Hills neighborhood of San Diego. During this time, he also petitioned for his mother-in-law Engracia Rubio to come to the United States from the Philippines. Her arrival coincided with the birth of their youngest daughter Rena. He proceeded to petition from the Philippines his remaining siblings, his wife's siblings and their children to come to the United States.

Always the entrepreneur, in the 1970's he formed the International Marketing and Imports Corporation buying and distributing Filipino products and artwork. In addition, he was skilled at purchasing, renovating, developing and managing numerous real estate investment properties individually and through a joint venture with Rudy & Ray Construction, Inc.

Ray was fiercely proud of his Filipino culture and was an active leader in the Filipino American community in San Diego. His numerous associations, a few of which he was a founding member, included:

COPAO (Council of Philippine American Organizations)
FAVA (Filipino-American Veterans Association)
Fil-Am Community Association
Filipino Democrats of San Diego
House of Pacific Relations-Balboa Park
LEAD San Diego
Nayong Filipino
Palauig Association
UPAC (Union of Pan-Asian Communities)
Zambales Association

Ray loved his hometown teams the San Diego Padres and the San Diego Chargers enjoying home games as a season ticket holder during his early retirement. Even more than that, he loved being able to watch his grandchildren play at their baseball, basketball, softball, and football games.

Ray succumbed to complications arising from diabetes and congestive heart failure at Scripps Hospital Encinitas on Thursday, June 25, 2015. Ray's altruistic nature drew the respect, admiration and love of everyone who knew him well. He will be sorely missed.

Ray is survived by his children:
Wendy Aragon-Mills & Tony Mills
Rena Holloway & Aaron Lewis Holloway

and his grandchildren:

Nino Mills - University of Arizona
Justin Holloway - California State University, Sacramento
Racquel Holloway - Otay Ranch High School
Anthony Mills - San Diego High School
