Virginia L. Almgren Daugherty
Services for Virginia L. Almgren Daugherty, 81, of Hemet, a former San Diego resident, were today in Lewis Colonial-Benbough Mortuary. Entombment will be in Cypress View Mausoleum. She died Wednesday in a hospital.
Mrs. Daugherty, a native of Aberdeen, S.D., lived in the county for more than 50 years. She was a real estate broker, a member of the Thursday Club, a 1922 graduate of San Diego High School and attended San Diego State University. She was the daughter of former San Diego Mayor Walter W. Austin.
Survivors include a son, Louis Almgren of San Fransisco; a daughter, Donna Almgren Hodges of La Jolla; nine grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.
