Andrew Russell Davenport was born in 1830in Whitley County, Kentucky. He was the son of Daniel Andrew Davenport and Mary Annabelle "Polly" Strunk-Davenport.

His first marriage was to Charlotte Ball...

His second marriage was to Mary Ann "Polly" Whaley. Mary was the daughter of Perry Commodore Whaley and Sarah Ogle.

Andrew and Mary were married Aug 26,1871 in Sevier County, Tennessee. They had the following children;

1. William "Bill" Davenport,
2. L. E. "Liney" Davenport
3. John L. Davenport
4. Ashley Davenport
5. MacDaniel "Mack" Davenport
6. Andrew Russell Davenport

Andrew Davenport served as a Private in Company E, 32nd Regiment of the Kentucky Infantry and applied for a pension , Claim no 973577 .

He moved to Sevier County after the Civil War.

He died of the Flu in 1895
