John A. Hodges, 57, passed away peacefully on May 2, 2013 at the Country Estate Nursing Home with his daughter, Samantha (Hannah Rose), his sister Mary, and her husband Frank, by his side. He was born in Harvey, Ill to the late William and Jean (Craigie) Hodges. John was a graduate of Holyoke High School and Holyoke Community College with a degree in Nursing; and for a time served in the U.S. Army. John was a very talented handyman with a terrific sense of humor; he will be greatly missed by all who knew him. He is survived by his children, Samantha "Hannah Rose" Morin and her husband, Manuel Carmona of Norfolk, VA, Christopher Hodges of South Hadley, and Yojary Hodges-Perez of Puerto Rico, his loving siblings, William Hodges and his wife Eva of Plymouth, MA, Thomas Hodges of Holyoke, Sherron Lathrop of Rochester, NY and Mary Adamski and her husband Frank of Agawam, his grandson, Jason Carmona, longtime friend Rebecca Stefan of Westhampton and many nieces and nephews. Johns' family would like to extend a very gracious thanks to the staff at Country Estates and Baystate Medical Center for the excellent care and support given to John.
