His second marriage was to Leda (or Lydia) Marie Myers in Kansas City on February 2, 1935. They had been married about 6 years at the time of her death.
His third and final marriage was to Susan Hubbell Deck. They were married on March 15, 1942 in Kansas City. She was almost 30 years younger than Harry. Susan had been widowed twice when she married Harry and had one son, Frank Deck, and two step children, Marion Jane Deck and John Wilson Deck.
Harry Brace was a long-time resident of Kansas City, having immigrated from England about 1884. Over the years he was the owner of H. T. Brace Co. (railroaders' equipment) and H. T. Brace Mercantile (clothing).
In July 1951 the two-story warehouse for H. T. Brace Mercantile, which was located in the Missouri River bottoms of Kansas City, was flooded during the second worst flood in the Midwest (at the time), specifically, areas in Eastern Kansas and Missouri were flooded. The flood displaced almost 500,000 people in Kansas and Missouri, destroyed the Kansas City stockyards and forced the building of a new airport away from the river bottoms. Henry and his wife's step son, John, were still in the process of moving the inventory in the warehouse when they saw the water rushing toward them. John had tried to convince Harry to move everything to the second floor, but Harry thought that if they just moved everything to the top shelves that would be sufficient. It wasn't sufficient and Harry lost his inventory. Harry and John had to be rescued from a second floor window of the warehouse.
Harry died about three months after the flood at the age of 86, leaving Susan a widow for the third time.
