Rebecca V. Burkhart, who was probably named after her maternal grandmother, Rebecca (Baltzell) Burkhart, was the fifth of thirteen children born of the union of Coriolanus Domaris (1821-1881) and Caroline Lavinia (Goff) Burkhart (1835-1892). Rebecca was born on the family's donation land claim near Harrisburg in Linn County, Oregon on Oct 9th, 1859. Rebecca never married but attended school and lived with her parents until her untimely death on Christmas Eve, Dec 24th, of 1878 at the young age of 19 years of causes unknown to me. Her grief stricken parents buried their daughter near the three other children they had already lost by then at Riverside Cemetery in Albany, Linn County, Oregon.
