Joseph, 83, was born to Frank G. and Andreina (Ferrero) Badding, attended schools in Welby, Colorado, and married the former Kathleen L. Swanson in 1947. He owned and operated the dairy farm located west of Fort Lupton. He had also worked his father's dairy, Badding Dairy, near 104th and Huron St. in Northglenn. He delivered milk to Sunset Creamery and dairied on 112th & Pecos with his brother. He continued to haul milk - even as late as 1957. His pride and joy was his cattle, especially his registered Ayrshire Dairy cows. He received numerous awards from the Dairy Cooperative for many years of high production and high quality milk. For over 40 years Mr. Badding was a dedicated 4H leader, many of those for the Running H 4H Club of Brighton. He was dairy superintendent at the Adams County Fair. He also served as the dairy judging coach for many years. He remained an active member of Adams County Fair Board for 20 years before becoming a life member once he moved to Elms Haven Care Center. He loved organizing and helping run the programs committee to raise funds for 4H dances with his friends, Dave McIntosh, Elmer Oestman, and Norb Badding. He had also reached the status of 4th Degree in the Knights of Columbus in Fort Lupton. In his spare time, Mr. Badding loved listening to Bonnie Nelson, his country idol, and working in his garden - especially after he moved to town. He always encouraged and supported his children and grandchildren. His nieces and nephews loved to visit Uncle Joe and play on the farm with all of the animals, with the most favorite part of those visits being feeding the calves.

Survivors included sons Joseph L. (Val), Westminster; Steve S. (Joan), Calgary, Canada; daughter Patty K. (Glen) Murray, Brighton; brothers Francis, Dove Creek, CO, Norbert, Greeley, and Edward, Cedar Edge, CO; sisters Marie Guiles, Thornton, Genevieve Fury, Dove Creek, CO, and Margaret Humann, Thornton; 11 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren. In addition to his wife Kathleen, Mr. Badding was preceded by son Daniel in 1973 (Memorial #3335321), daughter Marlene Finley in 2001, and brother Sylvester (Memorial #57011244.) Memorial Service on April 1 was held at Tabor-Rice Funeral Home in Brighton.
