Sandra was born to James Bernard McKanna and Margaret Minna Sandrock. She attended St. Olaf College in Northfield, MN, University of Washington in Seattle and Barnard College in New York. She also lived in Los Alamos, NM, for three years, Geneva, Switzerland, two years and Batavia, IL, for 17 years before moving to Driggs in 2001. She and David Franklin Anderson were married on July 4, 1970, in Green Bay, WI. She worked as a music teacher, a computer technician and a secretary. She was a member of the Lutheran Church. She enjoyed skiing, being a pilot, opera and travel. Survivors beside David included:
