The son of Ursula Walker and Jonathan Simms Bailey.

Ballard R. is enumerated in the 1870 MCC in the household of his mother, Ursula Bailey, in Beaver Pond District, with Princeton Post Office at that time, along with Wiley W., Cintha M., Robert H., George M., Josephine V., Elvira A., and Irwin H. All were listed as born in Virginia. Some of these names may not be spelled correctly. His brother Uriah and family lived in the following household.

Neighbors included the Surface, French, Brown, Fielder, Parker, Poe, & Belcher families.

He was 78 y, 8 m, 2 days of age.

"I searched the entire cemetery and was unsuccessful in locating the grave. There were quite a few field stones marking graves and some headstones that were so weather-worn that they weren't readable." Martha.
