Riley Relaford passed away Dec. 26 in Llano at the age of 89.
He was born on Aug. 15, 1917 to Phoebe Felicia (Turnbell) and Grubie Relaford in Center, Colo.
Riley had been a resident of Llano since 1980, coming from Midland, and was a member of the Lutie Watkins Memorial United Methodist Church in Llano.
He was employed as a purchasing agent for Texas Electric in Midland and retired after over 25 years of service.
He was also a veteran of the U.S. Army, serving as a captain during WWII in the Philippines and received a Bronze Star.
Riley was active in the Emmaus Community and with the Kairos Prison Ministry.
Riley was married to Ann (Thorington) Relaford on May 8, 1943 in Birmingham, Ala. He is preceded in death by his parents and son, Earnest Riley, Jr. and three bothers.
Survivors include his wife, Ann Relaford of Llano; children, Pamela Ann Robbins and husband Charles of Clovis, N.M., Binnie Costantino and husband Nick of Millsap, Texas, James Riley Relaford and wife Martha of Metamora, Ill., and John Relaford and wife Susan of Dalton, Ga.; 12 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandson; and numerous nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held Dec. 30 at Lutie Watkins Memorial United Methodist Church in Llano at 10 a.m. with Rev. David Griffin officiating.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Lutie Watkins Memorial United Methodist Church or to Llano Hospice. Arrangements are under the direction of Waldrope-Hatfield-Hawthorne Funeral Homes, Inc., Llano.
