Verda Napier Adams, 89, of Scottsburg, Indiana died Saturday, August 22, 2009 at Jewish Hospital & St. Mary's Healthcare in Louisville, Kentucky. She was born May 15, 1920 in Perry County, Kentucky, the daughter of the late Farmer and Lillie (Couch) Napier. Verda was married in Feb. 1940 to Wiley Adams, who died April 14, 1990. She was retired from Morgan Foods, Inc. in Austin, Indiana where she worked for 36 years retiring in 1977 and was a member of the Scottsburg Church of God. Survivors include a son: Vadus (Saundra) Adams of Austin, Indiana; two sisters: Renetta Sebastian of Scottsburg, Indiana & Felda Turner of Hamilton, Ohio; four brothers: George Napier of Austin, Indiana, Clarence & Fred Napier both of Knoxville, Tennessee and William Napier of Dayton, Ohio; a granddaughter: Missy Adams Heard and two great granddaughters: Katie & Kassidy Heard. Verda was preceded in death by three brothers: Everitt, David & Murphy Napier and a sister: Versa Barrett. Arrangements by: Collins Funeral Home.
