Joseph was the son of Edward Birdsall and his wife Martha Ingleson. Joseph married Violetta Hudson in Yorkshire in 1886 and both came to the United States.
Joseph A Birdsall, 9 Hoffman rd, New Hartford, died August 13, 1943 in Faxton Hospital after an illness of 10 days. Mr. Birdsall was born in Yorkshire, England January 13, 1858 and came to this country 62 years ago. A patternmaker and carpenter, he worked for the New York Mills Corp in that capacity until he retired 8 years ago. He was married in England to Violetta Hudson who died in 1928. He attended the Methodist Church and was a member of the Utica Lodge F and AM. Surviving him are a daughter, Mary E Birdsall and 2 sons, Albert, Utica and George of New Hartford, 3 sisters in England, several nieces and nephews. The funeral will be held in his late home at 11 am Monday. Interment will be in Forest Hill Cemetery.
